Makers' Yard

Makers’ Yard is an artist-run project space in Frome, Somerset. Our methodology is deliberately multifaceted, exploring the space between creating work as artists, curating and facilitating the work of others and building a grassroots community space for contemporary culture.

The Building

Originally part of a Victorian tannery, the warehouse has been re-established as a valued creative hub, housing an event space, artist studios and community yard. The space also hosts a growing programme of exhibitions, workshops, screenings, performances and co-authored arts and culture projects.

Artist Community

The building is home to a diverse community of creatives working across a variety of disciplines including visual art, film direction, ceramics, model-making, carpentry, jewellery design, motion graphics, set design, writing, architecture and photography. Our shared vision is to create a space that is much more than just a place of work but an environment that encourages new ideas, new conversations and new connections. ✊✊✊

Design Office

We are very excited to announce the creation of an in-house design studio which will produce an artist-led product range, coming 2024. Watch this space! 👀
